Today we had our first annual mushroom fun day at the farm! We had a great time with seven of our friends joining us to inoculate over a hundred logs with four different strains of Shiitake mushrooms. All who came got to try the different tasks involved in the inoculation: cleaning logs, drilling holes, loading them with sawdust, and waxing.

Every who came got to take home their own inoculated log and enjoyed a group lunch together. We look forward to having another mushroom fun day next year!

  • What a beautiful life you lead, Aaron & Derek–so full of creating and nurturing and giving. I think the beautiful website does it justice because it doesn’t interfere! I love the way it slides down with the berries photo on the first page and I love the photo of you two on the tractor. I can’t wait to try the blueberries! Maybe I can help next year with the mushroom inoculation day– sounded so cool!
    Keep growing,
